Hellbent: or A Sorry Sight in the West, inspired by Jane Wiseman’s 1701 play, Antiochus the Great: or The Fatal Relapse, is a vibrant burst of campy energy set in the American Wild West. Birthed from a desire to dust off the works of classical female playwrights, Hellbent is a raunchy rendezvous with snappy dialogue by Anna Gion and supported by the brilliant framework of Wiseman’s 300-yearold revenge tragedy.
Hellbent burns in the town of Quick Finish Bend, where Colonel Lyle has forsaken his wild-cat mistress, Calico, to enjoy the bliss of the virginal Bernice. Fired up with fury and lust, the outlaw, Calico, and her brother, Butch, scheme together to set all right again, but will the likes of Briggs, Mooseknuckle, Cameltoe, and the town eunuch, Doily, survive the dust-up?

activity, Hellbent celebrates female playwrights of the present and past and brings a western to the stage – all sorely lacking from the current theatrical landscape.

Going Rogue Theatre Co. was founded in 2026 by Anna Gion. Hellbent: or A Sorry Sight in the West is the first production under its name. The company aims to revive and celebrate the works of classical female playwrights that have long been overshadowed by that of their male contemporaries. Going Rogue Theatre Co. operates on an ethos of wit, tomfoolery, bawdiness, and bravery, whilst encouraging its artists to live up to the monikers that actors have been given for centuries – rebels, knaves, scoundrels, rapscallions, mischief-makers, rogues.

Anna Gion holds an MFA in Classical Acting (LAMDA) and is the founder of Going Rogue Theatre Co. Her work as an actor spans many genres and mediums, culminating in an extensive and colourful production history and numerous accolades. She has worked largely in New York and Los Angeles and is fresh off of a run of Sodom: The Quintessence of Debauchery at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Literarily, her writing heavily involves reviving and celebrating the work of classical female dramatists.
KATIE LUCHTENBURG | Director
Katie Luchtenburg (they/she/he) is an American actor, director and theatre-maker based in London. They recently completed their MFA in Classical Acting at LAMDA. Previous work includes theatre and film in Chicago at Oil Lamp Theatre, Theatre Above the Law, Revive Arts Collective, and NBCUniversal. Katie’s directing practice is rooted in encouraging bold storytelling, taking play seriously, and collaborative ensemble work.

Alessandro is a New York born actor and LAMDA graduate who has performed extensively Off-Broadway. This fall, he makes his voiceover debut in iHeartMedia’s Underground Zero, produced by Goldhawk Productions.
BERNICE | ANNA COLES
Anna Coles is an actor and writer from Sydney. She trained at LAMDA before performing in roles on stage and film, most recently starring as Sylvia Plath in Hysteria. She recently co-wrote a short film shooting this autumn and is currently developing her play, Circling the Drain.
MOOSEKNUCKLE | BRENDAN PELOUBET
Brendan Peloubet is an actor & writer holding an MA in Classical Acting (LAMDA). For the past year he seemed to continuously be playing Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing but is currently working to break that cycle and produce his own dark comedy one-man show, coming next spring!
CAMELTOE | HOWIE BLOW
Howie is an actor from Dorset who graduated from Drama Studio London in 2025. His recent credits include Ebenezer Scrooge, A Christmas Carol (Quantum Theatre, 2025) & Clytoris and Swivia, Sodom: The Quintessence of Debauchery (Dunsinane Productions, 2026).
BUTCH | KADEN CALDWELL
Kaden is from Utah and is so excited to Butch it up! Some of his favorite roles have been Marius in Les Misérables, Barrett in Titanic the Musical, Israel Hands in Treasure Island, and a fork in Beauty and the Beast. He holds an MFA in Acting from LAMDA.
DOILY & CHOREOGRAPHER | AJ SANDERSON
AJ is a comedian and choreographer from Los Angeles who recently graduated from LAMDA with an MFA in Classical Acting. When he isn’t acting, he’s working to produce his plays GOON and I Eata Da Pasta! for 2027.
